This UN Human Rights Coun­cil (HRC) res­o­lu­tion was adopted with­out a vote in Octo­ber 2022. The HRC is com­posed of elected rep­re­sen­ta­tives from 47 Mem­ber States; together, they are respon­si­ble for coor­di­nat­ing inves­ti­ga­tions of and responses to human rights vio­la­tions.

Bear­ing in mind the impor­tance of sup­port­ing the empow­er­ment and build­ing the capac­ity of indige­nous women, young per­sons, older per­sons, per­sons with dis­abil­i­ties, per­sons in vul­ner­a­ble sit­u­a­tions and chil­dren, in accor­dance with their age and matu­rity, includ­ing for their full and effec­tive par­tic­i­pa­tion in deci­sion-mak­ing processes in mat­ters that affect them directly, includ­ing poli­cies, pro­grammes and resources, where rel­e­vant, that tar­get their well-being, in par­tic­u­lar in the areas of uni­ver­sal and equi­table access to qual­ity pub­lic ser­vices, health ser­vices, men­tal health, food secu­rity and improved nutri­tion, includ­ing through fam­ily farm­ing, edu­ca­tion, employ­ment and the trans­mis­sion of lan­guages and tra­di­tional knowl­edge, inno­va­tions and prac­tices, and also the impor­tance of tak­ing mea­sures to pro­mote aware­ness and under­stand­ing of their rights
